Since 1979, Höhencamping Königskanzel has been run by us – the Eiermann family – with passion, dedication, and heart. Over the years, we’ve continuously developed and modernized the campsite, always with the goal of creating a place where our guests feel comfortable and at home.

Since 2022, Franziska Stahl has been a valuable member of our team, supporting us with great dedication and becoming an indispensable part of our daily operations. Together, we work hand in hand to maintain the high standards of our campsite and improve them even further.

In 2025, the third generation – represented by Katharina Wennagel and Max Eiermann – took over as the new management. With fresh ideas and a deep love for the Black Forest, we proudly follow in the footsteps of our family, who built this campsite with great passion.

Our History

Höhencamping Königskanzel was founded in 1954 and is nestled in the idyllic landscape of the northern Black Forest, just 8 km from Freudenstadt. Since 1979, the campsite has been run by the Eiermann family, who continue its tradition with great passion and dedication.

Over the years, the site has been continuously modernized and expanded to offer guests the highest level of comfort and a unique nature experience. Some key milestones and awards in our history include:

• 1992: Opening of the swimming pool, which remains a highlight of the campsite to this day.
• 1996: Awarded the Silver Medal as an exemplary campsite in Germany.
• 2000: Received the Bronze Medal as an exemplary campsite.
• 2002: Became a founding member of Ecocamping.
• 2004: Celebrated our 50th anniversary with guests and regular visitors.
• 2005: Expansion of the facilities to include rental bathrooms and a multipurpose room, which has been used as the reception area since 2019.
• 2012: Added two large log cabins to the accommodation offerings.
• 2014: Recognized as a climate-friendly business.
• 2014/2015: Renovation and modernization of the second sanitary building.
• 2018: Added another small log cabin to the accommodations.
• 2019: Leased the on-site restaurant under the name “Katrins Campingstüble.”
• 2019/2020: Renovation and modernization of the first sanitary building.
• 2021: Introduction of “Super Comfort Pitches” with private rental bathrooms.
• 2023: Transitioned to new booking software as a step toward digitalization.
• 2024: Began renovation and reconstruction work in the swimming pool area.
• 2025: Honored as one of the “Tourism Heroes BW.”
